ST. PAUL, Minn. — The deal strengthens EcoLab’s long-term growth potential in the water-stressed region.

ST. PAUL, Minn. — EcoLab Inc. has obtained controlling interest in industrial water treatment company Jianghai Environmental Protection Co. Ltd., according to a press release.

Jianghai has customers in power and chemicals, noted the release. It provides treatment technologies, chemistries and services to various industries in China.

The company’s 2014 sales topped $90 billion, reported the release. It has more than 500 employees and two plants in Changzou.

China is a water-stressed market, stated the release, and the deal strengthens EcoLab’s long-term growth potential in the region.

“Jianghai’s excellent reputation, [size, product] and service offerings complement and expand our water treatment business in China,” said Ecolab Chairman and CEO Douglas M. Baker, Jr., in the release. “Both companies are known for their service-oriented, problem-solving approach to optimizing customer operations and profitability.”
