ROME — The European Desalination Society (EDS) has announced its 2014 desalination Master Courses, according to an article by D&WR.

The first in the series of six events is a three-day course led by Dr. Mark Wilf in Rome, March 3-5, on "Membrane Technology, Process & System Design," the article reported.

Also offered in Italy are "Ion-Exchange Membrane Processes: The Principle and Practical Applications," led by Heiner Strathmann on March 24-27; and "Pretreatment, Membrane Fouling and Scaling," led by Jan Schippers on March 31-April 3, noted the article.

According to the article, other upcoming events in the series are "Water Treatment for Hydraulic Fracturing" led by John Walsh in Limassol, Cyprus on May 10-11; "How to Correct the Biggest BWRO and SWRO Problems" led by David H. Paul in Limassol on May 10; and "Desalination with Solar Energy" led by Julián Blanco, Diego-César Alarcón-Padilla and Guillermo Zaragoza in Almeria, Spain on June 11-13.
