FCC Group appoints new CEO

MADRID — The leader has years of experience in the private and government sectors.

MADRID — Carlos M. Jarque was appointed as CEO of FCC Group by the board of directors, according to a press release. He succeeds Juan Béjar in the position.

Jarque holds a bachelor’s degree from Anahuac University in Mexico and postgraduate degrees from the London School of Economics, the University of Oslo, the National University of Australia and Harvard University, noted the release.

Before his new role, Jarque managed economic telecommunications studies in Mexico, stated the release. He chaired the Inter-sectoral Commission for Information and Monitoring of Public Finance in Mexico and worked as president of the National Institute of Statistics, Geography and Informatics.

In addition, Jarque served as secretary for Mexico’s National Development Plan for five years beginning in 1995, reported the release. He also directed social programs and housing initiatives as minister of social development.

Jarque was a representative for the Inter-American Development Bank in Europe and executive director of corporate, government and international relations in América Móvil, shared the release. He has also served as a board member for financial institutions.
