FORT WAYNE, Ind. — A $22 million ultraviolet (UV) water treatment facility has been dedicated in Fort Wayne, according to an article on seattlepi.com.
The new system was called "an investment in the future" by Mayor Tom Henry, who drank the disinfected water from the facility from a champagne glass at the ceremony, the article reported.
While the city still uses chlorine for disinfection according to the article, the amount of the chemical used will now be far reduced.
