TREVOSE, Pa. — Kraton Performance Polymers Inc. recently honored GE with a Platinum Contractor Safety Award for GE’s dedication to safety throughout the last 17 years, according to a press release.

GE supplies advanced water technology to Kraton’s facility located in Belpre, Ohio, where GE was recognized for having zero recordable injuries in over 30,087 hours from January 1998 through October 2014, stated the release.

A longtime customer of GE, Kraton utilizes a range of solutions within the water and process technologies portfolio, reported the release, including products within the chemical, monitoring and equipment business units.

GE’s chemical and monitoring solutions team has been on-site for nearly 18 years at Kraton’s Belpre-based facility where it treats water for the entire plant, continued the release, including plant boilers and cooling towers, wastewater treatment, clarification, process applications and effluent water clarification.

“The Kraton team at the Belpre, Ohio, plant honored GE recently with this award in recognition of their excellent safety performance over 17 years of service,” said Andrew Lett, health and safety engineer at Kraton Polymers. “Safety is a core value at Kraton, and it’s important that our partners feel this way as well. The GE team in Ohio clearly makes safety a top priority.”

Kraton’s safety awards are given to on-site contractors who meet certain criteria, noted the release, including the number of personnel at the facility and total hours worked.
