Oct. 28, 2013

DENVER — The commission is a new focus for the April 2015 World Water Forum.

DENVER — International Water Association (IWA) President and Senior Vice President and Chief Water Technology Officer of CH2M HILL Dr. Glen Daigger was recently appointed as co-chair for the Science and Technology Commission for the seventh World Water Forum (WWF), according to a press release.

The WWF is hosted every three years by the World Water Council, the release noted, and the Science and Technology Commission is a new focus this year in addition to the existing Political, Thematic and Regional Commissions.

Daigger is an expert in water and wastewater treatment technologies and he will address the significance of science and technology in water issues to generate discussions among water professionals, national government leaders and policy leaders, the release reported.

"Even though we have made good progress to getting the global population access to water, we have more work to do," said Daigger. "The best science and technology is irrelevant without aligned and implemented policies to improve basic sanitation and access to water."

According to the release, the next WWF will be held in Daegu-Gyeongbuk, Republic of Korea in April 2015.
