GRA 2013 award recipients announced

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Recipients of the two awards will be announced at the 29th Biennial Groundwater Conference.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Recipients of The Groundwater Resources Association of California (GRA) 2013 annual awards have been announced, according to a press release.

The awards will be presented during the 29th Biennial Groundwater Conference and 22nd GRA Annual Meeting Oct. 8-9 in Sacramento, the release reported.

Dr. Shlomo P. Neuman, a Regents Professor in the Department of Hydrology and Water Resources at the University of Arizona, is the 2013 Lifetime Achievement Award recipient for his dedication and contributions to the groundwater industry, stated the release.

The Santa Clara Valley Water District’s Domestic Well Testing Program is the 2013 recipient of the Kevin J. Neese Award, which recognizes a person or organization for fostering understanding, development, protection and management of groundwater, according to the release.

GRA, continued the release, is a statewide, not-for-profit, member organization of over 1300 scientists, geologists, engineers and other professionals which promotes resource management to improve groundwater supply in California.
