GRA to present 2012 annual awards during upcoming conference in Calif.

SACRAMENTO — The annual Lifetime Achievement and Kevin J. Neese Awards will be presented at a luncheon ceremony on October 5.

SACRAMENTO — The Groundwater Resources Association of California (GRA) will present its 2012 annual awards during its 21st Annual Conference and Meeting Oct. 4-5, 2012 in Rohnert Park, Calif. The annual Lifetime Achievement and Kevin J. Neese Awards will be presented at a luncheon ceremony on October 5, according to a press release.

The GRA Lifetime Achievement Award is presented to individuals for their exemplary contributions to the groundwater industry and for contributions that have been in the spirit of GRA’s mission and organization objectives.

Individuals that receive the Lifetime Achievement Award have dedicated their lives to the groundwater industry and have been pioneers in their field of expertise. The 2012 Lifetime Achievement Award is in honor of the late Anne J. Schneider, stated the release.

The Kevin J. Neese Award recognizes significant accomplishment by a person or entity within the most recent 12-month period that fosters the understanding, development, protection and management of groundwater.

The 2012 recipient is David L. Orth, general manager of the Kings River Conservation District, noted the release.

Orth was selected in recognition of his leadership in the development of the Upper Kings Basin Integrated Regional Water Management Plan and his dedication to collaborative initiatives in water and groundwater management.

The Conference will provide the latest information on recent and developing policies and regulations, and technical and legal challenges affecting groundwater use and management in California.
