SAN ANTONIO — The bacteria was found in a raw groundwater sample in Alamo Heights.

SAN ANTONIO — A raw groundwater sample taken in Alamo Heights this week tested positive for E. coli, according to an article by KENS5.com.

The Alamo Heights Water System removed the well from service after the test came back positive, the article reported.

The city also tested 15 treated-water samples that had been treated and disinfected, none of which tested positive for E. coli, noted the article.

"This is not a boil water notice and residents do not need to treat their water prior to consumption," stated a press release from the city.

All raw groundwater is treated and disinfected before it enters the city's distribution system, the article reported.
