High levels of arsenic found in drinking water supply on Indian reservation in Calif.

COACHELLA VALLEY, Calif. — The company is to comply with arsenic drinking water standards and conduct more consistent monitoring of its water supply.

COACHELLA VALLEY, Calif. — Officials in the Los Angeles, Calif. area said that Federal regulators have ordered a public water system for an American Indian Reservation in the Coachella Valley after high levels of arsenic were detected in the drinking water, according to CBS Los Angeles News.

D&D Mobile Home Park was order by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to address violations of the Safe Drinking Water Act, noted the article.

The company is to comply with arsenic drinking water standards and conduct more consistent monitoring of the drinking water being distributing to its 300 mobile homes.

Sampling showed arsenic levels almost six times higher than the EPA’s maximum contaminant level, stated the article.
