Grit washer

Smith & Loveless has introduced its new Pista® Turbo™ Grit Washer with Tri-Cleanse Technology™, the newest addition to the Pista® Grit Removal System family. The system boasts grit retention of 95 percent down to 140 mesh particle size, and drier, cleaner grit with less putrescible organic material. It offers a sleeker design and maintains a smaller total footprint compared to bulkier European-style grit washers.

Pressure sensor

American Sensor Technologies offers the new AST5100 Wet / Wet differential pressure sensor for measurement ranges as low as 0 to 5 inches of water column (0 to 0.18 PSI) and up to 0 to 15 PSID. AST uses a Macro Sensors LVDT (Linear Variable Differential Transformer) to measure the movement of bellows and digitally amplifies the signal with new electronics. The LVDT provides accurate, repeatable measurements as low as a few millionths of an inch. The AST5100 is compensated from 0 to 55°C (30 to 130°F) using the same electronics as the AST20HA pressure transducer.

Master testing gauges

Ashcroft has engineered the Type 1082 and 1084 test gauges for sustained accuracy and reliability. Available in 4 ½”, 6” and 8 ½” diameters, the Type 1082 boasts ~0.25%FS accuracy in ranges from vacuum through 10,000 psi. An external zero adjuster, temperature compensation and Monel® wetted parts ensure precision and media compatibility. For field calibration, the 3” Type 1084 “pocket” test gauge is the smallest portable master gauge available, covering ranges to 1000 psi with 0.5%FS accuracy.

Oil spill detection

Slick Sleuth™ Oil Spill Detection & Alarm Systems are used for detection, early warning and prevention of accidental spills. The optical sensor detects small amounts of oil and can be configured to automatically shut off pumps or valves, activate alarms and provide remote alert notification. The non-contact design is ideal for remote deployment in rugged settings. It is sensitive to the detection of crude, turbine, lube, hydraulic, fuel and most other hydrocarbon derivatives on water, dry concrete or ground surfaces.

Butterfly valves

GF Piping Systems has announced expansion of its large diameter size range for the Type 567 Butterfly Valve to include sizes 14”-16”. The new size range features a double eccentric off-center design and excellent chemical compatibility. The off-center shaft allows the disc to completely disengage from the disc seal, even when partially open. This results in reduced seal friction for longer service life. The double eccentric design requires only about half the torque of a traditional boot design, which decreases wear on the disc seal to further enhance product life.
