Air/vacuum valve
The Air/Vacuum Valve from Larox Flowsys automatically exhausts large volumes of air from the system while it is being filled with slurry. When the contamination is being emptied, air displaces the fluid and re-enters the pipeline to equalize pressure. It prevents discharge of the medium to keep your work environment clean and safe. When the system is filled and operating, the fluid lifts the ball until it closes the orifice. The orifice will remain closed until the system is emptied. Air may enter the valve and displace the fluid while the system is operating, but the internal pressure will keep the valve tightly shut. The valve will not re-open until the system pressure drops to near atmospheric pressure and the ball is no longer buoyant. Working pressure standards are 150 up to 1500 psig for air release valves, and up to 240 psig for combination valves for use on slurries.

The Burkert mxControl Type 8620 unit is designed to automate the control of process variables within a water treatment system. It can reduce controller and instrument costs by as much as half by integrating all control, monitoring and display features as well as data and event logging functions into one compact unit. It incorporates multi-parameter panel mounted transmitters into single platform multi-parameter controllers. In cooling towers, reverse osmosis applications and boiler systems this can also save time and space by allowing parameterization of a wide number of control variants via the integrated SD card slot, USP or connection via Ethernet.

Screening system
The Duperon® Perforated Plate brings simplicity and reliability to Ultra Screening. Through the cleaning power of Hydropression™, the company is able to effectively clear a static screen while using patented FlexLink™ technology. Just like the Duperon® FlexRake®, the Perforated Plate operates without submerged bearings, bushings or sprockets – ensuring reliable screening with little maintenance in even the harshest environments. The plate performs against the most stubborn debris the plant can offer: hair, grease, plastics, paper, and small particulate matter, to name a few. Duperon®, www.duperon.com

SolarBee mixers help reduce energy costs in wastewater treatment plants and improve water quality in potable water tanks. The company’s solar-powered mixers can supply most of the mixing energy required in any wastewater treatment pond, reducing the hours that the aeration system must operate, thereby reducing energy costs. They help reduce effluent BOD, TSS and ammonia and control odor while improving water quality to meet NPDES limits. For activated sludge treatment plants, the solar-powered mixers take over the mixing function in the main reactor and other basins to reduce aeration requirements.

Singer Valve will highlight its patented Pressure Reducing Valve with Integral Back-up (PR-SM) and the patented Dynamic Lifter Sewage Pressure Relief Valve (DL). The patented PR-SM is engineered to be used anywhere pressure reducing valve failure is not acceptable. This valve has a second and independent operating system superimposed on the standard primary system. With the assurance of a back-up system, pressures will continue to be controlled even in the event of failure with the primary system. The DL is a direct-acting spring-loaded relief valve that opens when the inlet pressure exceeds the set-point. It closes drip tight when pressure falls below the set-point.
