Magnetic gear pumps

Clark Solutions has introduced the MGK200 and MGK300 Series Magnetic Drive Gear Pumps. These self-priming gear pumps offer improved performance in terms of flow rate, pressure, and the ability to handle high viscosity fluids. Available in a range of materials to suit food/chemical/industrial applications including medical and surgical equipment, hemodialysis apparatus, processing equipment, ink-jet printing systems, cooling systems, water purification, and ultra-filtration systems, the pumps provide pulsation-free and noiseless operation. Flow logger

Hach's Flow Meter Products & Services group has released the new Hach FL900 Series Flow Logger with Marsh-McBirney Flo-Dar™ Sensor. The system provides users with a wireless (or standard) flow monitoring solution. Together, the flow logger and noncontact sensor streamline the flow monitoring process by reducing site time while increasing the safety of flow monitoring personnel. Logger features include instant verification of on-site operation/communication, real time alarms sent directly to email or mobile phones, and intuitive set-up and data management software. Sludge mixer

Sodimate MBV paddle lime/sludge mixer is the smallest sludge mixer on the market. Its unique conception and efficiency comes from its orientable paddle blades that allow efficient mixing of the lime and dewatered sludge coming from dehydration systems. It also eases the maintenance when paddle blades need to be replaced. It is possible to combine the mixer with sludge conveyors, sludge pumps and lime feed systems for an effective sludge stabilization process (Class B). Sodimate Inc., 773-665-8800, www.sodimate.com

Electromagnetic flowmeter

Krohne offers the Tidalflux electromagnetic flowmeter, including IFM 4110 PF and IFM 4210 PF. Used to measure the volumetric flowrate of electrically conductive liquids in partially filled pipelines, the flowmeter is suitable for wastewater measurement. This meter is combined with a capacitive flow-level measuring system, built into the wall of the measuring tube, providing accurate flow measurements in partially filled pipelines, with levels between 10 and 100% of the pipe cross-section. Dispensing pumps

Watson-Marlow has launched its 520Di dispensing pump for metering, dosing and transferring of sensitive
fluids in sanitary environments. Ideal for filtration, fermentation and dispensing applications, the 520Di accepts eight different tubing materials and sizes up to 9.6 mm for flow rates ranging from 4 microliters/min up to 3.5 liters/min and pressures up to 100 psi. The pump combines the ability to perform in process applications with dispensing and dosing programming to handle the most delicate laboratory environments. Watson-Marlow Pumps Group, 800-282-8823, www.watson-marlow.comTitration kit

The Ultrameter III 9P Titration Kit from Myron L is a comprehensive water quality analysis tool that features one-touch measurements for conductivity, resistivity, TDS, ORP, free chlorine, pH and temperature. The 9P also features the unique ability to perform in-cell alkalinity and hardness conductometric titrations either as stand-alone measurements or as part of an LSI calculation. The kit's conductometric titrations require less reagent additions than typical colorimetric test kits, and give accurate empirical results with turbid or colored solutions. Bladder accumulators

A new line of stainless steel bladder accumulators has been announced by Fluid Energy Controls. Featuring seamless construction – with no welds – the accumulators are available in sizes from 2½ through 15 gallons. Ideal for reverse osmosis, offshore applications, corrosive environments, petroleum, gasoline and chemicals. the accumulators are ASME Section VIII Division 1 certified, U stamped, and National Board registered. They handle pressures up to 1500 psi. All materials are made of 316 stainless steel. Fluid Energy Controls Inc., Los Angeles, CA, 323-721-0588, www.fecintl.com

Free chlorine measurement

Using amperometric technology, the FCL Series Free Chlorine Sensor from Sensorex offers real time free chlorine measurement. It is available in three different measurement ranges: 0-2ppm, 0-5ppm and 0-10ppm. The sensor's long-life design reduces maintenance cycles, which lowers lifecycle costs with less frequent sensor membrane cap/solution replacement and reduced technician installation time. After hypochlorous acid (HOCl) diffuses through the FCL sensor's membrane, it is electrochemically reduced, releasing electrons and creating a current flow proportional to the free chlorine concentration in the medium outside the sensor. Cathodic protection

Corrosion represents a significant hidden operating cost in water and wastewater systems. Optima™ anodes by Siemens, as part of a correctly designed impressed current cathodic protection system, can help minimize these costs. With over 50 years of experience in corrosion applications, the anodes have been used to control corrosion in pump systems, process equipment, storage tanks, pipelines, and concrete structures.
