CertainTeed Certa-Lok™ C900/RJ PVC Pipe is designed for use in directional drilling and other restrained joint applications. The pipe requires no special heat-fusion equipment, saving contractors a significant amount of time and money. Its joints are assembled as the pullback continues, so streets remain open and clear. And compared to alternate thermoplastic materials, higher-strength PVC requires a much thinner wall to achieve the same pressure rating. Because of this, a smaller diameter pipe can often be used. The Force Balanced Flex-Tend® Flexible Expansion Joint from EBAA Iron can accommodate pressure-induced thrust forces. Pipe protection

The new McElroy In-Field Tensile Tester gives contractors and pipeliners the ability to test high-density polyethylene (HDPE) butt fusion joints in the field. A hand-pump system safely tests coupons from pipes sized 2" IPS and larger. The tester also incorporates a template that is attached to the pipe to create a coupon through the use of a drill and reciprocating saw. Ford Meter Box has released new Restrained Flange Adapters (RFA) and Restrained Couplings (RC). The RFA is designed to restrain and connect plain-end pipe to a flanged connection while the RC restrains and connects two plain end pipes. Both products use the Ford SO-EZ gasket. The pre-lubricated gasket, in sizes 4"-12", attaches to the compression gland and allows both the RFA and the RC to be installed without disassembly. No gaskets to lubricate, no loose parts to fall in the trench and no complicated assembly.
