Ultrasonic flow measurement

The Model U53 uses ultrasonic sensor technology to provide accurate open-channel flow and depth measurements. The system automatically calculates flow using either pre-programmed or custom user-defined flow structure tables, making it an invaluable tool for non-intrusive monitoring of open channels. It uses a simple menu-driven structure to help guide the user through operation sequences. Flow measurements can be viewed directly on the display, or output to a chart recorder, data logger, or remote SCADA system via the two current outputs. Four user-configurable relays allow links to be made with external equipment for total site and process control. The Model U53 is ideal for flow and depth control in a variety of open channel applications including monitoring of storm water, inlet flow, final effluent and activated sludge.

The V-Cone from McCrometer is a differential pressure-type flowmeter, ideal for tight-fit and retrofit installations. Employed in today's most challenging applications, it offers high accuracy and repeatability, flexible installation and no maintenance. The installation flexibility of the meter is due to its ability to condition the flow prior to measurement. It has been employed successfully in oil and natural gas production and distribution, process and facility control, and the municipal water/wastewater sector. With no moving parts to replace or maintain, the meter offers long-term performance with low operating costs. In addition, the meter never needs recalibration, so once installed it can operate unattended for years.

EMCO Flow Systems' Sono-Trak™ clamp-on transit time ultrasonic flowmeter is designed to measure liquids in pipe sizes from two to 100 inches. The meter uses advanced non-intrusive flow measurement technology. Programming of the meter is completed using the company's patented four-button menu-driven EZ-Logic user interface. The meter has a large backlit display. Its clamp-on, non-intrusive design, using all stainless steel clamps, allows for a typical installation time of less than 30 minutes, without having to shutdown the line. With no moving parts to wear out, flowmeter maintenance is non-existent, and the non-intrusive transmitter means there is no liquid contamination.
