ABB's new low-voltage ACS 800 drive family is the narrowest in the industry, and the compact drives are available in NEMA 1 or NEMA 12 enclosures (without de-rating). All units are designed in a bookshelf style, and units range from 6.5 inch wide for 1.5 to 150 low-Hp designs, up to freestanding high-Hp units that measure only 13.78 inches wide. The freestanding enclosures of the drives in the range from 150 – 600 Hp turn easily to fit into deep, narrow spaces, or wide, narrow spaces. Rated at supply voltages of 230V to 690V, the ACS 800 is backward compatible with ABB's previous ACS 600 family, as the parameters have the same name and scaling.

Polymer preparation system

A new dry polymer preparation system from Severn Trent Services features an air driven feed that helps lower maintenance by keeping the dry and wet parts of the system separated. The Semblex Model Polymax® DL "In-Tank" Dry Polymer Preparation Systems are designed to mix, dilute and age large volumes of polymer solution from dry polymer concentrate. Advantages include complete initial wetting/dilution with minimal operator attention and lower operating costs.

Seawater composite membrane

Hydranautics recently introduced new SWC4 (seawater composite) high temperature, high boron rejection membranes to its line of seawater desalination elements. The new membrane is designed to provide higher salt rejection at elevated seawater temperatures with increased boron rejection. Higher rejections make it ideal for use at RO/power hybrid plants because the membranes provide suitable water quality at high temperatures thus eliminating the need for separate seawater intake systems. The SWC4 provides 5,200 gallons per day (gpd) at 99.8% nominal salt rejection. The membrane element is available in both 4 and 8-inch diameters and 40-inch-long configuration. The elements can be used as either a stand alone product or part of the company's Integrated Membrane Solution™ (IMS).

Vacuum actuated pumps

Edson's Vacuum Actuated Pumps combine high suction lift (23 in. hg) and large solids handling (1.5 in. dia.) with low emulsifying and low shear liquid transfer. These features and their solid construction makes them ideally suited for a broad range of difficult pumping applications in the construction, manufacturing, wastewater, food, marine, recreational and environmental industries.

Walchem has introduced its WDP Series Dual Input pH/ORP controllers. These versatile controllers accept two electrode signals, in any combination of pH and ORP, and are offered in a prewired NEMA 4X wall mount package that can be installed in minutes. The dual input models are more cost effective than two single input models. There are four control outputs, available as on/off control relays, or as pulse proportional outputs to directly drive electronic metering pumps.

Gas-tight blowers

Kaeser Compressors has introduced the Omega G Series gas-tight rotary blowers. The blowers feature double piston rings and hardened steel gas and oil seals. The mounted and piped reservoir provides visual indication of seal failure. In addition, the seal vents may be piped back to suction or may be purged. The blowers are available with flows to 4,400 icfm at pressures to 15 psig and vacuums to 15 in. Hg.
