FBC Technologies offers the O2ctopus® floating aeration system. The system is based on the principle of diffusing air at the lowest possible basin depth. The deeper the bubble is produced, the longer it takes for the bubble to float to the surface, extending the time available to transfer oxygen through the bubble membrane into the water.

Oil/water separator

Royal Environmental Systems offers a cost-effective solution to keeping water clean and free of oil contaminants. Its ecoSep® below grade oil/water separation unit permanently separates oil from water and allows virtually no oil emulsion formations to develop. Independent testing demonstrated the unit's high-efficiency separation of free oils and hydrocarbon-laden sediment far exceeds today's environmental standards. The unit is suitable for point-source and industrial stormwater applications. It requires no external energy supply and has no electrical parts, only mechanical and stainless steel components. The automatic shutoff valve (ecoStop) protects against unexpected spills.

Fugitive emissions monitoring

Process leaks into heat exchange cooling water produce fugitive hydrocarbon emissions that can be emitted to the atmosphere as the water circulates to the cooling tower. FCI Environmental introduced its PetroSense® CMS-4000 Continuous Monitoring System that provides real-time monitoring of hydrocarbons from process leaks into cooling tower water. The system uses patented Fiber Optic Chemical Sensor (FOCS®) technology.

Intelligent actuator

Rotork IQ electric valve actuators are designed to meet demanding motor operated valve (MOV) requirements. They can provide a wide array of important valve operation data for making predictive maintenance decisions. The infrared setting tool easily makes field adjustments and avoids the time-consuming task of removing actuator covers. The Rotork InSight software can monitor important valve operation data, diagnose valve problems, and download valve operation data wirelessly via its infrared port to a PC computer. The IQ actuator can link to a DCS through Pakscan, Foundation Fieldbus, Profibus, and more.

Mounting pads

Hot Box® has released its new fiberglass Glasspad™ for mounting backflow preventer enclosures. These prefabricated mounting pads are sized specifically for valve enclosures, to eliminate the need for jobsite poured concrete slabs. The pads allow for "one trip" installation of the valve, the pad and the enclosures, with no need to return after the concrete dries.

Water treatment additive

A new, industrial water treatment additive controls scale and deposits in stressed cooling water conditions with high pH and high calcite saturation. Versaflex® One additive stabilizes calcium phosphate, iron and zinc while tolerating high levels of contaminants such as elevated total dissolved solids, suspended solids and soluble iron. It is stable in the presence of halogens, even during hyper-halogenation. The additive prevents precipitation and deposition of heavy metals and phosphonate oxidation products, reduces water consumption, and more.
