Advanced centrifuge technology

After decades of leadership in belt-based dewatering with its Aquabelt®, Klampress® and Winklepress® technologies, Ashbrook Simon-Hartley has expanded America’s dewatering options with acquisition of advanced CQ Centrifuge technologies from its purchase of UK sludge processing specialist Centriquip Ltd., announced in April. It also will be introducing its Sludgemaster RST technology to the North American marketplace, a highly effective and economical screen-based thickening technology, at WEFTEC. Open meter SCADA protocol

Semaphore has introduced the IEC 62056-21 Device Language Message Specification (DLMS) protocol for its T-BOX line of SCADA system products. This protocol is now available with a T-BOX MS Modular System when equipped with a 32-bit CPU. It has been adopted by the OPEN Meter Consortium, an EU effort to standardize a protocol for automated meter reading (AMR). The OPEN meter project is expected to contribute to EU energy efficiency targets and help reduce carbon emissions by 20% by 2020. CSE Semaphore, Nashua, NH, 603-577-3803, www.cse-semaphore.com

UV-resistant clear PVC piping

Harvel Plastics has launched EnviroKingUV™, a clear PVC piping suitable for exposure to sunlight. Unique UV blocking technology reduces harmful UV light wavelengths from penetrating the plastic while allowing beneficial wavelengths through. The piping offers a cost-effective solution for photobioreactor use and other outdoor applications exposed to sunlight where transparency is required. Solar-powered circulators

Using the sun’s energy instead of grid power, SolarBee® solar-powered water circulators minimize aeration equipment run-time in wastewater and industrial water reservoirs, which significantly reduces energy costs and helps provide a fast payback. These circulators can supply most of the mixing energy required in virtually any type of treatment pond, reducing the hours that the aeration system must operate. Water analysis software

Drinking water, wastewater and industrial water facilities can accurately and automatically capture data from instruments and easily identify trends with summary reports, charts and graphs using the new version 7.0 of the Hach Water Information Management Solution (Hach WIMS™) software. Standard features are focused on increased data accuracy and include a Compliance Engine for regulatory and quality control, Hach BOD Manager for database management for the Hach HQ40D meter and LBOD probe system, Quick Trend graphical interface and Help System, with new report templates, “how to” videos and more comprehensive documentation. The Hach Company, Loveland, CO, 800-677-0067, www.hach.com/wims

Larger-diameter piping

CertainTeed is expanding its CertaFlo™ GreenLine PVC sewer pipe line to include larger diameters. In addition to those ranging from 4”-8”, the brand will now also be available in 10” and 12” diameters, for use in upsizing overloaded smaller lines and for size-on-size replacement of deteriorated pipelines. It’s a high-impact polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pipe that features the company’s Certa-Lok™ Integral Bell restrained joint system. It comes in 10’ and 20’ lengths for ease of use in trenchless applications, such as directional drilling and pipe-bursting. CertainTeed Corp., Valley Forge, PA, 866-284-7473, www.certainteed.com
