Aeration efficiency

Parkson’s HiOx® Aeration System is among the most energy efficient aeration equipment in the market,
increasing aeration efficiency by 20% or more over the best of commonly used fine bubble devices. Whether removing BOD in a high rate process, nitrifying in a conventional activated sludge process or removing nutrients with anoxic/oxic configurations, this panel system means a minimum 20% reduction on energy cost in aeration, and a 10% savings in total plant energy cost. Thermal belt dryer

This belt dryer’s multiple belt, variable speed, low temperature compact design provides advanced drying technology to municipal and industrial markets. The
system offers evaporative capacities of 1,000 to 13,000 lbs/hour of water evaporated and can operate 24/7. It performs well on what may be considered “waste heat” or “useless thermal energy”. Siemens Water Technologies Corp., Holland, MI, 281-360-4971, www.siemens.com/dryers

Sludge pump

The heavy duty SPX peristaltic hose pump from Watson-Marlow reliably handles a variety of harsh materials,
including abrasive sludge. Advanced hose technology enables it to pump grit-filled sludge dependably for a long timeUnlike other pump types, the highly abrasive nature of sludge does not affect pump life. With its self-loading design, hose replacement is quick and easy. Watson-Marlow Pumps Group, Wilmington, MA, 800-282-8823, www.watson-marlow.com

Industrial evaporators

The ENCON Mechanical Vapor Compression (MVC) Evaporator drastically reduces costs associated with
industrial wastewater disposal. It’s now available in standard capacities of 40-1,800 gph. Each evaporator can simultaneously process multiple waste streams and yield a distilled water product at a fraction of the cost of other disposal methods. As the cost of energy continues to rise, it offers an economical solution to wastewater disposal problems, capturing and reusing latent heat normally lost in traditional evaporation equipment. This reduces operating costs by 85% to 95% over thermal evaporation, resulting in a typical operating cost of 1-2 cents per gallon of distilled water (based on $0.10 per KWh). Grinding & dewatering

The Honey Monster® SRS-XE is an improvement to JWC Environmental’s award winning Honey Monster. This automated Septage Receiving System uses a combination of grinding, solids removal, washing and
dewatering to remove unwanted trash before septage is allowed to enter a wastewater treatment plant. It features an Auger Monster screen with 1/4” perforations that removes far more unwanted solids and trash than bar screens. And a pivoting assembly allows for easy maintenance and minimizes overhead requirements needed to remove the auger from the tank. The patented dual compartment compaction zone provides significant additional dewatering. Additional filters keep the spray wash systems operating trouble-free, even when reclaimed water is used. Anue Environmental releases the new EP-1320 system that recycles a small fraction of discharged wastewater back into the pump station resulting in surface agitation for breakup of fat, oil & grease (FOG) and biofilm buildup. The system increases dissolved oxygen levels up to 800% while solids are homogenized. These beneficial actions optimize in-well conditions promoting pre-treatment solids breakdown. It also provides automated well washdown. Anue Environmental Inc., Carlsbad, CA, 800-559-7159, www.anueenv.com
