Miniature circuit breakers
Weidmuller introduces its new line of DIN-rail mounted, thermal magnetic miniature circuit breakers (MCB) — the BR and SU Series. This new MCB line offers a complete range of UL 489 listed Branch circuit breakers and UL 1077 listed Supplementary circuit breakers, all rated for both AC and DC circuits. Well suited for use in environments where the control equipment may be subjected to vibration and mechanical shock, the BR and SU Series provide downstream protection for circuit cables, motors, generators, transformers, computer systems, power supplies and telecommunications equipment in industries worldwide.

Non-contact flow meter
Geolux’s new RSS-2-300WL non-contact flow meter combines radar technology for surface velocity measurement with an ultrasonic sensor for reliable water level monitoring. Surface velocity measurement is improved by using Kalman filtering and tracing algorithms based on energy movement modeling to assure precise and reliable measurements even in the most challenging applications. The RSS-2-300WL can measure fast and turbulent water flows. The ultrasonic sensor can measure water level ranging from 0.3 m distance from the sensor up to 15 m distance. Contactless measurement of water flow allows maintenance-free sensor operation.

Ballast water management system
Evoqua has remodeled its SeaCURE® ballast water management system to provide optimum high-flow-rate performance from what is now one of the smallest electrochlorination systems on the market. The next generation SeaCURE System is a skid-mounted, plug-and-play ballast water treatment system that is 76% smaller and 85% lighter than earlier generations of the system. It can fit through standard hatchways and can be installed by riding crews, substantially reducing pre-installation work and time required during dry-dock. It can be configured to work as a vessel’s marine growth prevention system, protecting against biofouling in critical machinery and cooling systems.

Phoenix Contact has added to its Safe Energy Control (SEC) product line with durable, UL Recognized surge protective devices (SPDs). Ideal for meeting small footprint requirements with high-energy handling capabilities, these pluggable devices include local and remote status indicators, and reversible keyed plugs and bases for safe, easy maintenance. Complementing the previously released PLT-SEC devices, the new releases meet the applicable IEC standards for Class I, II, I+II, and III. These devices remain backward-compatible for easy usage with legacy products.

Hatenboer-Water introduces Tethys: a new range of reverse osmosis (RO) water generators. Responding to increasing demands from its global client base, the Dutch water treatment specialist developed a compact yet highly efficient RO unit for vessels requiring up to 6 m3 of fresh water per day. The RO unit desalinates seawater and offers a safe and durable alternative to standard fresh water bunker facilities, which are susceptible to bacterial contamination. It is set up modularly, with different filtration options and a plug-and-play frame that is easily installed and commissioned.

A Brite Company has built on its expertise of blending products to grow and expand its business and knowledge of clay filtration products, specifically Bentonite clay products. These formulations have the ability to separate oily contaminants from wastewater, precipitate metallic hydroxides, ionically react with non-precipitated heavy metal cations and encapsulate these contaminants to form non-hazardous waste. Specifically, clay products can be used to treat oily wastewater from processes using metal working fluid applications (including CNC, drilling and cutting); treat mop water; and solve a variety of difficult industrial wastewater treatment issues.

The lightweight TETRA™ LP Block™ dual parallel lateral underdrain system from De Nora offers excellent distribution of backwash air and water for more efficient bed cleaning and reduced filter operation costs for new or retrofit applications. With no moving or wearing parts, the low-profile design is simple to install and requires minimal maintenance for long life. The GroutGrip design, standard on all LP Block™ underdrains, includes six rows of molded dovetail wedges that are embedded in the grout, offering 1.75 times the pullout strength of a conventional underdrain block.

Val-Matic’s Tilted Disc® Check Valve provides low head loss and non-slam performance. Non-slam closure is assured by both an angled seat design, which minimizes disc travel, and an offset pivot-mounted disc. The valve’s tapered seat and disc, designed with wear-resistant materials, assure tight seating and long life even in the most severe applications. Top- or bottom-mounted oil dashpots can be added for systems with extreme conditions such as high shut-off heads, surge tanks or multiple pump applications.

Fully recessed vortex impeller design provides an unrestricted flow since the impeller is not normally in contact with the solids being pumped. Industrial process applications include slurries, fragile food processing solids, pulpy solids, oils, pollution control and wastewater treatment. Solids handling up to 4” diameter spheres. The Series 1600 is designed for long life in severe services with heads to 170 feet, temperatures to 250°F with flows to 1,600 GPM.

Baldor Electric Company has expanded the Dodge Quantis product family, a full line of modular gear drives, to offer four and five stages of gear reduction for all three types of gear arrangements: in-line helical (ILH), offset parallel (MSM) and right angle helical bevel (RHB). Quantis reducers and gearmotors can now be configured in ratios over 7500:1 with an output torque range up to 123,910 in-lb., making the new output speed range 20 times greater than before. Higher ratio capabilities make the Quantis gear line an ideal solution for the most common applications found in water, wastewater, meat processing, grain handling and thermal processing.

Fuji Electric Corp. of America has expanded its portfolio of Ring Compressors with the addition of the VFZ Series, a complete lineup of energy efficient, UL-certified and RoHS compliant models that are ideal for a wide variety of industrial applications. The VFZ Series comprises single-stage ring compressors with a maximum pressure of 139 in. H2O; a maximum vacuum of 110 in. H2O; and a maximum capacity of 570 SCFM. Featuring direct motors from 1 HP to 15 HP and available voltages of 115 single phase, 230 single phase, 230/460 3-phase (dependent upon motor size), these new models utilize Premium Efficiency motors and all units are provided with threaded flanges.
