GF Piping Systems has introduced a new line of clear Schedule 40 PVC pipe for fluid applications requiring visual monitoring. The excellent clarity of the new clear PVC make it a perfect choice for confirming flow direction in a pipe and fluid color changes or contamination within a system. It can also be used as secondary containment piping to provide a quick and easy visual indication of system leaks. GF Piping Systems, Tustin, CA, 800-854-4090, www.us.piping.georgefischer.com

FreeWave Technologies has launched a low cost, robust, secure FGRCP Industrial cathodic protection (CP) remote monitoring radio to monitor oil, gas and water/wastewater pipeline integrity. The 900 MHz radio is a multi-purpose, spread spectrum, board level product with specific I/Os for monitoring and reporting operational values on pipelines, tanks, structures and other underground facilities subject to environmental corrosion. It monitors pipe-to-soil test stations, rectifier stations, critical bonds, interference points, pipeline pressure stations, pipeline scrubbing stations and critical culverts to identify and prevent corrosion that can lead to leaks, groundwater contamination and other adverse scenarios affecting overall water quality, supply and/or public safety. Scale prevention

ScaleBlaster eliminates formation of lime scale deposits in water pipes, wastewater pipes and more without the need of water softening equipment, salts, chemicals or maintenance. The unit is also effective in removal of struvite. The integrated circuitry system produces a unique and complex modulating frequency waveform that hits the resonant frequency of the calcium carbonate molecules causing them to lose their adhesive properties. Existing scale is removed and never forms again. The product is non-invasive and adds nothing to the water. Clearwater Enviro Technologies, Clearwater, FL, 800-756-7946, www.scaleblaster.com

Burst and replace water, sewer and other pipes with the Grundoburst static pipe bursting system from TT Technologies. Pulled by a hydraulic bursting unit, the cutter head’s special cutting wheels split the host pipe. Patented Quicklock bursting rods are linked together not threaded. This saves time, prevents twisting and extends the life of the cutter head over threaded bursting rods. Six models are available for bursting 2” through 54” pipes and larger. Asahi/America’s latest addition to its Halar® (E-CTFE) piping system line, the Halar true union ball valve can operate as a manual valve or be paired with Asahi/America’s pneumatic or electric actuators. A true union design allows for flow and pressure in either direction and eliminates stress inherent to a ball secured only at the top. One of the most corrosive resistant thermoplastic material available, it’s ideal for handling high concentrations of sodium hypochlorite and 98+% sulfuric acid. Additionally, E-CTFE has good electrical properties and a broad-use temperature range from cryogenic to 300º F (150º C). Available in ½” through 1”, features smooth turning in even the most difficult applications, and has a unique stem design which makes it “blow out” proof. Basket strainers made of Kynar® PVDF are now available exclusively from Micromold Products and its distributors. With higher capacity than Y-Strainers, these units capture substantial un-dissolved solids, extending the life of expensive downstream equipment and reducing downtime in chemical process industries. A sister product of Micromold’s PVDF Y-Strainers – but with greater capacity – these highly corrosion resistant, all plastic Fluor-O-Shield™ basket strainers enable higher operating temperatures (up to 300°F/150°C). Impervious to UV, they cost less and are more cost effective than lined steel or exotic metal units. The strainers remove suspended or waste solids from corrosive or high-purity fluid streams, to prevent damage to sensitive downstream equipment such as pumps, valves, instruments and spray nozzles. Vector Corrosion Technologies introduces Galvanode® ZincTape™ protection for new and existing steel structures such as water tanks, light posts, pipelines, steel columns and beams, marine structures, transport vehicles and industrial tanks. It’s an easy to apply product designed to cover the surface of iron, steel, aluminum and light metals in order to protect them from corrosion. The product consists of high purity zinc with an electrically conductive, self adhesive backing. This allows the adhesive to create an electrical couple between the surface that needs to be protected and the zinc tape, so the zinc can act as and a galvanic anode. The tape can be supplied in custom shapes and can be factory top-coated for improved protection and aesthetics. Vector Corrosion, Wesley Chapel, FL, 813-830-7566, www.vector-corrosion.com
