Red Valve’s newest product, the Series DX slurry knife gate valve is designed especially for heavy slurry applications in the power and mining industries. When the valve opens, reinforced elastomer sleeves seal against each other and provide a 100% full port opening, minimizing turbulence which in turn minimizes wear. The seats isolate and protect all metal parts from coming in contact with the process. When the valve is closed, the sleeves provide a drop tight seal and shut-off in both directions. Unlike traditional knife gate valves, the DX prevents slurry build up in the seat area which might otherwise prohibit the valve from closing. Red Valve Co. Danfoss Flomatic’s new Cycle Gard® constant pressure pump control valves are hydraulically operated and require no electricity. They help eliminate the effect of water hammer, extend pump motor life, and allow for a reduced tank size. These valves automatically regulate downstream pressure and provide a constant pressure until demand in the system is no longer required. Depending on valve model, an integral or external low flow by-pass allows the system pressure to slowly rise under low demand and fill the tank or reservoir until the pressure switch setting is reached, shutting the pump off. Asahi/America has developed a unique ball configuration for the 3-way Type 23 Multiport ball valves known as the cross port ball. It features a molded flow corridor inside the ball cavity which allows for separate L-port flow pattern in a valve which also has a “Straight Through” flow pattern. The cross port ball is available for all material ball valves sizes 1/2”-2” of this type. By rotating the valve handle, it can accommodate all three flow patterns in a single valve body design. It may also be automated using electric or pneumatic operators. Asahi/America Inc., Malden, MA, 877-242-7244, www.asahi-america.com

Bigger full-port ball valves

Apollo® Valves has extended its 77C “Contractor” Series full-port bronze ball valve line to include a new 2-1/2” model. It’s available to ship now with either NPT (77C-100) or sweat (77C-200) end connections. This new larger size means Apollo provides higher Cv values and superior flow for larger commercial systems, a major advantage for contractors and system designers. Most other suppliers offer full port bronze valves only up to 2”. Conbraco Industries Inc., Matthews, NC, 704-841-6000, www.apollovalves.com

The VMP Variable Displacement Dispenser is a fully programmable dispensing system, which utilizes FMI’s patented CeramPump® Valveless piston pump design. A precision stepper motor controls the pump speed. A second stepper motor electronically adjusts piston displacement. This provides ultra-fine dispense adjustments by varying piston stroke length. It can be programmed for a variety of functions using a user-friendly Touch Screen Interface (TSI) that can control up to 16 pumps on a single bus. With its wide operating range from vacuum to 7,500 psi and -326°F to 756°F, co-ax valves’ PowerTube™ technology is now built into its VMK 20 range of co-ax® valves. This is the same technology the company supplies to some OEMs for precisely admitting fuel to industrial power turbines with positive open/closed performance measured in milliseconds. This range of coaxial valves is a low profile design impervious to contaminants and pressure imbalances in the system. It’s especially suited for high cycle applications requiring positive shutoff performance, like dosing, dispensing and filling applications. co-ax valves inc., Penndel, PA, 800-757-3725, www.coaxvalves.com

Tyco Flow Control now meets the German administrative regulations TA Luft 2002 and VDI 2440 emission standard test for a Teflon lined version of its Neotecha Sapro Sampling Valve. The valve is designed for highly demanding corrosive and toxic applications in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries. It’s based on a mechanically live-loaded TFM primary spindle seal which achieves the critical balance between required interference needed to minimize emissions. Plast-O-Matic has introduced Series PRHM, a thermoplastic pressure regulator capable of converting inlet pressures up to 150 psi to a predetermined maximum downstream pressure ranging from 5 to 125 psi. Unique to these regulators is the rolling diaphragm seal, which isolates the spring chamber from downstream pressure sensing liquid and assures sensitive, smooth, accurate performance. Other important features include all-molded body construction, which eliminates internal leakage that could cause a malfunction, and a heavy-duty shaft seat to withstand pressure surges. Flowserve has released a Device Type Manager (DTM) for the Limitorque MX actuator. The new Profibus DP-V1/PA DTM V 1.0 software significantly reduces commissioning time, maintenance and related operating costs. The manager improves productivity by enabling direct interaction between the user and the valve actuator using FDT-DTM technology. The software contains device-specific application information. The manager can be integrated into engineering and Field Device Tool (FDT) frame applications, such as stand-alone commissioning tools or asset management systems that are equipped with FDT interfaces.
