Sludge sampler

The AMS Multi-Stage Sampler can be used to collect sludge samples up to 4 feet in thickness. The sampler has four stainless steel x 12" sampler body sections (a base section and three sampler body extension sections) to allow field personnel to make a sampler to the length that is needed. The kit comes with three 4 foot SS extensions that allow users to deploy the sampler through 12 feet of water before reaching the sediment. Dredges may also be used to collect samples from the top 4" of the sludge. The Ekman Dredge is used for sampling benthic communities inhabiting soft bottomed aquatic environments. AMS Inc.

Sludge blanket monitoring

Krohne's new Optisys SLM 2080 optical sludge blanket measurement system offers accurate measurement of sludge blanket depth, separation zone, and swirled solids (fluff zone) depth using optical suspended solids measuring technology. The system is ideal for continuous measurement of industrial and municipal wastewater sludge, sludge settlement monitoring, and control of return activated sludge (RAS) and waste activated sludge (WAS). Rotary fan press

The Prime Rotary Fan Press® simplifies dewatering performance for sludges/slurries by using continuous pressure differential technology to meet the needs of solids handling requirements and restricted budgets. The system uses a slow rotational speed (<1 rpm), and offers semi-automated operation and a self-cleaning feature. The system is energy efficient, portable and expandable. Decanter centrifuge

Solid bowl decanter centrifuges play a decisive role in improving water and wastewater treatment facility operation. Mixer systems

Combining the Chemineer® Model 20 HT/GT mixer with the Chemineer RL-3™ impeller creates the ideal mixer for wastewater treatment plant applications. Rotary drum thickener

Kusters Water / WasteTech offers a complete line of rotary drum thickeners for sludge thickening. As the drum rotates, fluids pass through the perforations in the drum and fall into the water collection trough underneath the drum and are then discharged. Solids are retained and thickened within the drum and dewatered as they move to the elevated end of the drum by the internal screw auger. Kusters

Close-coupled pumps

The Moyno® 2000 Model WA and WB close-coupled pumps are specifically designed for lower pressure, lower flow applications that do not require the full features and benefits of the Moyno 2000 G1 pump. Lime, sludge mixer

Sodimate's MBV lime & sludge mixer has a stainless steel construction ideal for many harsh industrial applications. Compact in its design, the mixer features orientable paddle blades that allow efficient mixing of lime and dewatered sludge coming from dehydration systems. Sludge tanks

Featuring six-foot-high walls, modular, heavy-duty sludge tanks from ModuTank are available in various modular capacities from 50,000 to 2,000,000 gallons and higher. High-Pressure AODD Pump

Wilden® has announced the availability of its new HX400S High-Pressure Air-Operated Double-Diaphragm (AODD) Pump, which has been designed for use in applications that require the transfer of viscous, solid-laden slurries at high discharge pressures. Rather than relying on external boosters or amplifiers, one of the pump's liquid chambers is used as an amplification chamber. This allows the pump to generate a 2:1 ratio of discharge fluid pressure to air inlet pressure, resulting in the ability to achieve a discharge fluid pressure of up to 250 psig. Pump Solutions

Solids separation

Inclined screw press

Filter presses

Toro Equipment's Draco filter presses are used to separate solids from liquids in a wide range of applications. The sludge is pumped into a series of filter chambers fitted with a permeable filter cloth on both sides. While the liquid is forced out of the sides, the filter clothes retain the solid components, leaving a filter cake deposited inside the chambers. As the chambers become full of solids, the pressure rises and it becomes progressively more difficult to continue pumping in more of the sludge. Toro Equipment
