SDWA poster
The 11th edition of the Safe Drinking Water Act wall chart is now available from HDR Inc. It has printed and distributed nearly one million charts to water utilities, schools and individuals worldwide since 1994. The poster-sized chart provides an easy-to-use reference to all drinking water regulations including a detailed listing of contaminants and MCLs, health effects and monitoring requirements. Emphasis this year is on simultaneous compliance with multiple regulations, in particular two new rules established by the EPA in January. HDR Inc., Omaha, NE, 800-366-4411, www.hdrinc.com
Corrosion-resistant valves
A new color catalog from Hayward describes its line of Cepex by Hayward corrosion-resistant, all-plastic valves. They were developed for cost-sensitive applications requiring a full-featured valve. The catalog includes four languages: English, Spanish, French, and Portuguese. Full-color photographs illustrate each group of ball, check and butterfly valves. An exploded photograph of each valve type clearly shows individual components and assembly into a complete unit. Hayward Flow Control, Clemmons, NC, 888-429-4635, www.haywardflowcontrol.com
Post-column lab unit
On exhibit at Pittcon 2006, Pickering’s Vector PCX is a rugged, low-cost post-column derivatization system ideal for high-throughput analysis of target compounds. It inherits the selectivity, sensitivity and chromatographic reproducibility of the PCX5200 instrument (discontinued in January) and is compatible with all major HPLC systems. It’s targeted for basic testing in demanding, 24/7 laboratory environments requiring low capital outlay, analytic accuracy and long life for post-column instrumentation, components and reagents.
