Endress+Hauser has introduced the Proline Promag L 400 electromagnetic flowmeter for water and wastewater applications.
Flowmeter

Endress+Hauser has introduced the Proline Promag L 400 electromagnetic flowmeter for water and wastewater applications. It has an Ethernet port and built-in webserver for data access and configuration via any web browser. This allows engineers and maintenance technicians to configure all device functions without any special software. The industry optimized L sensor has drinking water approvals and corrosion protection that allows it to be installed underwater, underground and in saline environments.

Conductivity measurement

The Burkert transmitter Type 8222 is a compact device specially designed for measuring the conductivity value of fluids. The transmitter consists of a cell and a temperature sensor molded in a sensor holder. This ensemble is plugged in and connected to an IP67 enclosure containing the electronic module with cover and a removable display. The conductivity sensor is available with three different cell constant C values, those with C = 0.01 or 0.1 are fitted with stainless steel electrodes and, those with C = 1.0 are fitted with graphite electrodes.

Ultrasonic flowmeter

ECHO Process Instrumentation has introduced the latest series of Arrow Hunter Plus clamp-on, transit-time flowmeters for portable or permanent ultrasonic flow applications. They will measure clean or dirty liquid flow in metal or plastic pipes with any liners from 3/8" to 118" diameters. The meters use Dual DSP technology to measure a velocity range from 0.03 to 82 ft/s. Accuracy is +/- 0.5% factory calibrated (process conditions can reduce accuracy) and repeatable to +/- 0.15% of measured value.

Level controller

The new PSL 5.0 Pump Station Level Controller from Greyline Instruments features redundant level sensing. It includes a non-contacting ultrasonic sensor, and users can also connect a loop-powered pressure sensor for redundant sensing in applications with foam or grease. The controller will continuously recalibrate the pressure sensor and automatically switch back and forth from ultrasonic to the pressure sensor as required. It is designed for sewage lift stations, wet wells and storage tanks. An automatic pump run time logging and reporting system helps operators to plan pump maintenance and identify "lazy" pumps before they fail.

Flow monitor

Pulsar Process Measurement have launched Flow Pulse, a compact pipe flow monitor designed for monitoring the flow rate in fluid distribution systems, for pump efficiency checks, in process plants or sewage pumping stations. The monitor uses a clamp-on ultrasound sensor and Refracted Spread Spectrum Analysis (RSSA) digital signal processing to derive flow information. The monitor operates in a flow range from as little as 0.3m/s through to 4m/s, with a minimum particle size of 100µ and concentration of 200 ppm or above (the equivalent of hard water).

Mixed oxidant

The Miox RIO Zuni generates 1 or 2 lb/day chlorine equivalent mixed oxidant solution chemistry from salt for biofilm and airborne bacterial control in process and makeup water disinfection. Mixed oxidant solution chemistry is proven to be effective on Legionella, more than hypochlorite, due to its ability to remove biofilm that harbors Legionella. The system is compact and designed for minimal maintenance with no storage or handling of hazardous chemicals.

Membrane elements

Lanxess Sybron Chemicals has introduced three new types of Lewabrane® membrane separation elements for reverse osmosis in waters with strong fouling potential. The new membranes have surface areas of 400, 370, and 90 square feet. The RO B400 FR and RO B370 FR have a diameter of 8", while the RO B090 FR 4040 has a diameter of 4". The polyamide composite membranes are wound in several layers to form a spiral-shaped element that are characterized by a high degree of polymerization and a low surface charge, which in itself reduces the accumulation of dissolved solids at the membrane surface, a phenomena known as concentration polarization.

Wrench kit

Lowell’s 511X Ratchet Socket Wrench Kit with extended sockets makes it easier to tighten difficult-to-reach nuts found in pipeline and construction work as well as in-plant maintenance, repair, operation and production. The kit includes the company’s Model 51QR ratchet handle and five hexagonal deep well sockets: 7/8", 15/16", 1-1/16", 1-1/8", and 1-1/4". Each socket is 3-1/2" long. All components are packaged in a heavy-duty molded plastic case. Sockets are made of machined steel while the handle is made of cast iron and all ratchet parts are fully enclosed.
