TEHRAN, Iran — Damavand Mineral Water Company’s managing director said that 40 percent of Iranians drink less water than the world standard, according to the Tehran Times.
The managing director adds that many refuse to drink mineral water because they believe it contains toxic additives.
According to research, Iranians drink 1.9 liters of water as women consume half a liter less than men, noted the article.
Research indicates that 23 percent of Tehran citizens drink less than 1.5 liters of water, which is far less than the World Health Organization (WHO) standard for people’s health.
Almost half of the population hydrates their bodies by consuming tea.
