BUENA PARK, Calif. — FILBUR is sponsoring the Challenged Athletes Foundation’s triathlon event for the third year in a row, providing both financial and volunteer support.

BUENA PARK, Calif. — FILBUR Manufacturing, parent of the PureRite™ brand, will sponsor The Challenged Athletes Foundation® (CAF) 20th Annual Aspen Medical Products San Diego Triathlon Challenge (SDTC) on October 20 for the third consecutive year, according to a press release.

FILBUR Manufacturing will provide both financial and volunteer support for CAF, which helps individuals with physical challenges get involved in sports, according to the release.

The event, which features a "challenge" distance triathlon, a one mile swim, 44 mile bike ride and 10 mile run, includes over 200 challenged athletes and 500 able-bodied athletes on average and raised more than $1.4 million last year, stated the release.

"FILBUR Manufacturing is proud to be part of something so important and positive," said Shelly Johnson, marketing manager for FILBUR Manufacturing. "This year we've decided to focus specifically on the SDTC Dodge Challenged Athlete Swim Clinic as it ties in beautifully with the mission of our industry … to promote the enjoyment and safety of water."

Funds raised at the event will go toward providing adaptive sports equipment, training and competition expenses to challenged athletes to help them stay active, the release stated.
