Record attendance at WEFTEC 2013

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — More than 22,000 registrants and 971 companies were in attendance at WEFTEC this year.

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The 2013 Water Environment Federation Technical Exhibition and Conference (WEFTEC) drew a record-number of attendees this year with 22,589 registrants and 971 companies represented, according to a press release.

The 86th annual WEFTEC conference was located in Chicago, its original location, with 297,400 square feet of exhibit space this year, the release reported.

"WEFTEC has evolved over the past 86 years, but it continues to demonstrate WEF's unfailing commitment to serving the needs of the water profession," said WEF interim executive director Eileen O'Neill.

Author and self-proclaimed "agent for social change" Kevin Carroll gave the keynote address, continued the release, focusing on "reigniting the spark of creativity" to achieve greater success.
