Former WQA board of governors president passes away

LISLE, Ill. — Douglas T. White was president of the board from 2008 to 2009 and received the Ray Cross Award in 2011.

LISLE, Ill. — Douglas T. White, former president of the Water Quality Association (WQA) board of governors, has passed away, according to a press release.

White, who sat on WQA's board of directors from 2004 to 2010 and served as president of the board of governors from 2008 to 2009, died Saturday, Jan. 11 after a long illness, the release reported.

A veteran of the water treatment industry, White was working as director of member services for the Culligan Dealers Association of North America (CDANA), the release noted, and previously worked for Watts Water Technologies.

According to the release, White received the Ray Cross Award in 2011, which recognizes a WQA member whose pioneer spirit and unwavering commitment has made a notable difference in the water treatment industry.

"Doug was a brilliant and highly respected, yet extremely humble, man,” remarks WQA Board President Richard Mest (Master Water Conditioning Corp.: Pottstown, Pa.). “He brought a really high level of fiscal insight to our board, but also had an ability to connect with people in a very genuine way. He will be dearly missed.”
