Bluedrop announces company goals in bagged ice/bulk water sector

RANDOLPH, Mass. — The father-son leadership team aim to change the way retailers and consumers view bagged ice.

RANDOLPH, Mass. — Bluedrop Water has announced that its bagged ice and bulk water vending kiosk will change the way retailers and consumers view bagged ice, according to a press release.

“Our goal is to seriously disrupt the status quo in several ice/water/vending business categories,” says Brendan Dickinson, president of Bluedrop Water based in Randolph, Mass., a relatively new entry in the purified water and ice vending space. “Wherever we install our vending units, they’re better for the environment and for consumers than most current offerings by our competitors. We’re building a niche that has gotten the attention of our competition,” he says.

Dickinson was named president of Bluedrop on January 1, noted the release, while his father, a real estate developer and Bluedrop's original investor, has assumed the title of Chairman.

Bluedrop's equipment, which is provided to participating retailers free of charge, manufacturers and bags purified ice which can be purchased and dispensed to customers 24 hours a day, the release reported.

According to the release, retailers benefit by protecting their margins on bagged ice, receiving one less delivery and eliminating theft and shrinkage of bagged ice.
