DoD ESTCP requests proposals for innovative environmental technology funding

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Pre-proposals are due by Tuesday, April 1.

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The Department of Defense (DoD), through the Environmental Security Technology Certification Program (ESTCP), is seeking proposals for innovative environmental technology demonstrations as candidates for funding beginning in FY2015, according to a press release.

The goal of ESTCP is to promote the transfer of innovative environmental technologies through demonstrations that collect the data needed for regulatory and DoD end-user acceptance, noted the release; projects conduct formal demonstrations at DoD facilities and sites in operational settings to document and validate improved performance and cost savings.

DoD (service and defense agencies) may submit pre-proposals for demonstrations of innovative environmental technologies in the areas of environmental restoration — assessment of vapor intrusion from subsurface volatile organic compound contamination and weapons systems and platforms — technologies to reduce, control or eliminate the sources of wastes and emissions in the manufacturing, maintenance and use of weapons systems and platforms, reported the release, with all pre-proposals due by April 1.

A Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) and Non-DoD Federal Call for Proposals (CFP) seeks pre-proposals for environmental technologies in the topic area of assessment of vapor intrusion from subsurface volatile organic compound contamination, the release noted.

According to the release, ESTCP Director Dr. Anne Andrews will conduct an online seminar "ESTCP Funding Opportunities" on Feb. 21 from 12:30-1:30 p.m. EST to offer "how to play" information to those interested in the new ESTCP funding opportunities.
