LISLE, Ill. — WQA Aquatech USA 2014, the Association’s annual convention and trade show, promises a range of value and opportunity from navigating governmental challenges to test-driving WQA’s new education program, according to a press release.
The event kicks off today in Orlando, Fla. and runs until Friday, noted the release.
The trade show and exhibition will feature networking, presentations and the latest technology, reported the release, with educational sessions in five key areas: Water treatment basics, high purity water applications, advanced water topics, commercial applications and business training.
According to the release, other major highlights include:
Healthcare law primer. What does the new Affordable Healthcare Act mean to businesses? Eric Hargan, former deputy secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, will discuss the latest changes, reporting requirements, how penalties and insurance exchanges will affect businesses and how to prepare for further changes scheduled to take effect in 2015. (Thurs., March 20 at 8 a.m.)
Keynote speech by bestselling author. Charles Fishman, the award-winning journalist and author of "The Big Thirst: The Secret Life and Turbulent Future of Water," will be the keynote speaker. Fishman, who has studied the complicated relationship between humans and Earth’s water supply, will discuss water scarcity issues, sources of innovation and how water quality improvement companies can benefit from current trends. Dialog with top Florida EPA official. Chris Klena, deputy director of the Florida Environmental Protection Agency’s division of water resource management, will be holding a lively dialog on key water treatment issues. Attendees are invited to join WQA staff in a special dialog on treatment issues with one of the most senior public officials overseeing water policy in the state of Florida. Demonstration of WQA’s new education program. Get a feel for WQA’s professional education overhaul. The Modular Education Program offers a series of bite-sized online courses. It incorporates self-study, targeted background reading and real-world activities.
