NGWA has full roster of upcoming events in May

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The main event next month is the 2014 NGWA Groundwater Summit May 4-7.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The National Ground Water Association (NGWA) has several upcoming educational and industry events slated for May, according to the website.

On May 4-7, the 2014 NGWA Groundwater Summit will take place in Denver with the theme "10 Years of Moving Research to Solutions," with a full roster of speakers and events, available here.

Attendees will be able to earn CEU credit at three short courses to take place in conjunction with the conference: "Crafting Technical Documents and Making Effective Presentations," "Estimating Rates of Groundwater Recharge" and "Introduction to Mountain Hydrogeology," notes the website.

Another short course, "Environmental Forensics," will take place on May 8, the website reports.

Also in Denver on May 8, the one-day NGWA Conference on Characterization of Deep Groundwater will take place to allow attendees to gain insight on what is currently known, share ideas and discuss what can possibly be done going forward to better understand and characterize deep groundwater.

On May 14, a webinar is scheduled titled "Environmental Isotopes in Groundwater Studies: Isotope Tools to Date Groundwater," offering insight on the use of radioisotopes to constrain estimates of groundwater age and rates of flow.

Also on May 14, a brown bag session entitled "Reducing Problematic Concentrations of Hydrogen Sulfide in Residential Water Well Systems" is scheduled.
