DENVER — CH2M HILL projects were recognized with prestigious industry awards during the annual Global Water Awards ceremony hosted by the International Desalination Association and Global Water Intelligence, according to a press release.
The awards were presented on April 7 at a ceremony in Paris, with a keynote address delivered by Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, the president of Liberia and Nobel Laureate, the release reported.
The yearly awards recognize outstanding achievements within the international water industry, noted the release.
Peru’s Taboada Wastewater Treatment Plant, located in Callao, Peru, is the largest water-treatment facility in South America, with a maximum capacity of 1.8 million m3/d, continued the release, and was named the Wastewater Project of the Year.
According to the release, CH2M HILL’s client, Bahrain Petroleum Company (BAPCO), received an Award of Distinction for the Industrial Project of the Year for its $120 million wastewater treatment facility, which treats 24,000 m3/d of secondary wastewater at the BAPCO refinery in Sitra, Bahrain.
