Badger Meter wins award for innovation

MILWAUKEE, Wis. — The company will receive a BizTimes IQ Award for Innovation from BizTimes Media LLC.

MILWAUKEE, Wis. — Badger Meter, a leading global innovator of flow measurement and control solutions, has announced it will receive a BizTimes IQ Award for Innovation from BizTimes Media LLC, according to a press release.

Badger Meter is headquartered in Milwaukee, Wis., and BizTimes Media is one of the state’s leading business news outlets, noted the release.

The I.Q. Awards salute Southeastern Wisconsin businesses for their innovative products, services or processes, continued the release, and Badger Meter will receive its award on May 21.

The company is being recognized for its BEACON Advanced Metering Analytics (AMA) solution, the release continued, which benefits water utilities by using fixed and cellular networks, giving utilities access to powerful-decision making information, without the costs and infrastructure requirements associated with traditional fixed network systems.

According to the release, with the January 2014 launch of BEACON AMA, Badger Meter became the first major water meter manufacturer to release a cost-effective cellular-based metering solution for use in both residential and commercial water metering applications.
