Water Technology speaks with Cynthia Lane of AWWA

LATHAM, N.Y. — Lane discusses ACE 2014 and AWWA’s recent accomplishments and goals for the coming year in our latest podcast.

LATHAM, N.Y. — This year marks the 133rd anniversary of the American Water Works Association's (AWWA) Annual Conference and Exposition.

ACE14 will take place June 8-12 at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center, bringing together more than 900 industry experts and products and services from more than 450 companies.

Eight pre-conference workshops, five plenary sessions and 18 new and relevant professional tracks will provide information on everything from communicating with stakeholders to regulatory compliance, monitoring and treating DBPs to rethinking treatment and distribution infrastructure.

Considering that this is the 133rd ACE event, Water Technology caught up with AWWA Director of Engineering and Technical Services Cynthia Lane to find out what's new this year and hear about some of the Association's recent success and challenges.

"ACE14 really provides critical educational opportunities, networking opportunities and the ability to learn about the latest and greatest technology that's available to water utilities across the United States," said Lane. "It's really also an opportunity for the attendees to network with their fellow water professionals. They learn directly from each other about the different issues that are facing the water sector."
