LATHAM, N.Y. — Xylem Watermark is the corporate citizenship and social investment arm of Xylem Inc., a provider of fluid technology and equipment solutions for challenging water issues.

Watermark was created in August 2008 with the purpose of providing and protecting safe water resources in communities around the world, working with leading international nonprofit organizations to provide water through community-based and emergency response projects and to protect water resources through disaster risk reduction efforts.

While it began as a three-year, $4 million commitment, Watermark has grown to affect the lives of more than two million people in more than 20 countries, with its current nonprofit partners Water for People, Mercy Corps, China Women's Development Foundation, Planet Water Foundation and Avina.

Water Technology caught up with the leadership and partners of Xylem Watermark to find out why the partnerships are key to the program’s success, the key challenges to providing safe water to the developing world and how sustainability plays into the program’s efforts.

The final of the three podcasts, with Water for People’s Regional Program Officer for Africa and Asia Katja Neubauer, is available today on our podcast page. Also be sure to check out our interview with Xylem Watermark Director of Corporate Citizenship and Social Investment Michael Fields and our conversation with Mercy Corps Director of Corporate Partnerships Allison Morris.
