ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The International Bottled Water Association (IBWA) applauds the U.S. House of Representatives for passing the Water Resources Reform and Development Act of 2014, which supports a strong public water infrastructure and creates the Water Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Authority (WIFIA), according to a press release.
WIFIA will provide low-interest federal loans to communities that reduce the cost of financing large water and wastewater infrastructure projects, the release reported.
“The International Bottled Water Association (IBWA) has always supported the maintenance and improvement of a stable U.S. water infrastructure, which is critical for providing citizens with clean and safe drinking water,” says Joe Doss, IBWA president and CEO. “The creation of WIFIA will allow communities across America to improve their public water infrastructure, which is essential to our country’s health, business and quality of life.”
IBWA now urges the U.S. Senate to pass this legislation and support America’s public water infrastructure, noted the release.
The International Bottled Water Association (IBWA) is the authoritative source of information about all types of bottled waters, continued the release, with a membership that includes U.S. and international bottlers, distributors and suppliers.
