RACINE, Wis. — The Johnson Foundation at Wingspread released a report, “Developing an Agenda for Change for New Jersey’s Urban Water Infrastructure,” discussing New Jersey’s opportunities to transform urban communities and address combined sewer overflows and other water infrastructure challenges, according to a press release.
The report is a result of a meeting convened by The Johnson Foundation at Wingspread, New Jersey Future and Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation to develop a set of recommended priority action steps to transform the state’s urban water infrastructure, stated the release.
Guidelines for public, private and nongovernmental partners are offered in the report to ensure necessary investments are being made regarding design, construction and maintenance of 21st century water infrastructure that strengthens cities, enables economic growth, leverages modern practices and reduces flooding and energy use, noted the release.
“When New Jersey Future and the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation suggested we partner with them in an effort to catalyze changes in New Jersey’s cities, we immediately knew this was a great opportunity to apply and leverage what we have learned through our CNW convenings,” said The Johnson Foundation at Wingspread Director of Environment Program Lynn Broaddus.
