NGWA awards Clemson University professor

WESTERVILLE, Ohio — The award will be presented during NGWA’s Groundwater Expo and Annual Meeting taking place this coming December in Las Vegas.

WESTERVILLE, Ohio — Professor Fred J. Molz III of Clemson University located in Clemson, South Carolina, received the National Ground Water Association’s (NGWA) 2014 M. King Hubbert Award for major science contributions to the knowledge of groundwater, according to a press release.

The award will be presented during NGWA’s Groundwater Expo and Annual Meeting taking place this coming December in Las Vegas, stated the release.

The release reported that Molz is a research professor and distinguished scientist emeritus in Clemson’s Department of Environmental Engineering and Earth Sciences.

He has also served as a South Carolina Universities Research & Education Foundation distinguished scientist, Huff Eminent Scholar and Feagin Professor of Civil Engineering in Auburn University’s Civil Engineering Department, continued the release.

Among Molz’s noteworthy accomplishments is field research work in Mobile, Alabama, first funded by the U.S. Geological Survey and later by the U.S. Department of Energy and the EPA, noted the release.
