WESTERVILLE, Ohio —The National Ground Water Association (NGWA) announced its support of the Water Supply Cost Savings Act (Savings Act) and released a Q&A to help NGWA members and the general public gain a better understanding of the bill, according to a press release.
The Savings Act is intended to reduce local, state and federal costs for providing drinking water to U.S. citizens living in rural communities, stated the release.
To help assist small communities with their drinking water needs, the release reported that the Savings Act establishes a “Drinking Water Technology Clearinghouse” where the EPA administrator and the secretary of USDA will distribute information on innovative, cost-effective and alternative drinking water delivery systems, including systems supported by wells.
The Savings Act was introduced to the House of Representatives in September 2014 by Representative Marlin A. Stutzman, noted the release.
