PHOENIX — Findings in a recent report released by WestWater Research revealed that environmental water market activity has shown significant growth over the last 10 years, according to a press release.
The WestWater Research report shows total expenses from water acquired to protect streamflows across the Western U.S. have exceeded more than $560 million, stated the release.
The release reported that these expenditures have been crucial for improving water quality and restoring streamflows for endangered species of fish.
Throughout the last decade state and federal agencies, as well as an increasing number of private organizations, have become a large part of the overall trading activity, noted the release.
