Diverse group to address clean water efforts in teleconference

WASHINGTON — A teleconference will be held Tuesday, Feb. 3, featuring a group representing businesses, communities, conservation and more, to address current clean water efforts.
WASHINGTON — The National Resources Defense Council (NRDC) announced that a diverse group representing affected cities and towns, conservation, businesses and more will address the importance of clean water and the current congressional efforts, according to a press release.
On Monday, Feb. 2, Environment America plans to deliver a letter from hundreds of local elected officials in favor of restored clean water protections, stated the release.
On Tuesday, Feb. 3, a teleconference will feature supporters of clean water from an array of constituencies, and on Wednesday, Feb. 4, members of Congress for clean water will speak during a “rare joint hearing between key committees of the U.S. House and Senate,” added the release.
The release reported that the phone-in news conference will take place from 1 to 2:15 p.m. EST on Feb. 3 and will “preview a joint hearing between the Senate Environment and Public Works and the House Transportation and Infrastructure committees on a pending rule to restore Clean Water Act protections to 60 percent of streams and millions of acres of wetlands across the country.”
