SFPUC releases rap video about San Francisco’s sewer system

SAN FRANCISCO — As a way to help introduce a younger audience to the importance of a functioning sewer system, as well as the major capital improvements that are being made to it, the lyrics were written and performed by summer youth interns.

Through BAYCAT, a local firm “empowering underserved city youth through digital media training,” the video was filmed and edited by San Francisco’s youth, continued the release.
“The SFPUC is using the power of lyrics and music to connect with young people,” said SFPUC General Manager Harlan L. Kelly Jr. “We want more youth to be engaged with our program to upgrade our aging sewer system and become better environmental stewards.”
The video features SFPUC staff as well as cameos by former San Francisco Mayor Willie L. Brown Jr. and Ronnie Lott, former professional football player for the San Francisco 49ers, noted the release.
