Podcast: Dais Analytic’s Tim Tangredi discusses water and energy demand solutions

BIRMINGHAM —Timothy “Tim” Tangredi, Dais Analytic president and CEO for the U.S. and chairman of Dais Analytic Beijing in China, discusses the latest solutions to address water and energy demands with Water Technology Assistant Editor Maria Woodie.

BIRMINGHAM — Water Technology Assistant Editor Maria Woodie recently spoke with Timothy “Tim” Tangredi, president and CEO of Dais Analytic for the U.S. and chairman of Dais Analytic Beijing in China, to discuss the latest technologies and solutions to address water and energy demands.

In this podcast, Tangredi offers insight into the rise in the demand of water and energy and the associated impacts because of this increase in demand.  He also highlights the need for public education and the advancements in technology to address water and energy concerns.

“The problems aren’t going to solve themselves as the saying goes,” says Tangredi. “It is going to take a concerted effort on the part of everyone to make changes that are necessary. One of your articles that you wrote about [discussed] partnerships. I think that governments, industries, communities [and] individuals all have to play a role in developing what the new future of water and energy [is], not only in the United States but worldwide. Does that sound like mom, pop and apple pie? Sure it does. But at some point, you are going to find out that you can live without your [smartphone], but you can’t live without water — and especially the quality of water.”

He continues, “So in summary, yes there are a number of things that have to happen in the coming months and years, and it is not going to be the same old thinking. I tend to be a big believer that technology and the desire and partnerships will carry us through to the level where we need to be in terms of satisfying the fact that we are going to have nine billion people on this planet in a number of years when we only [have six billion] today and [no one is really] making any new water. So, we [have] to get a lot smarter, a lot more creative and we have the ability to do it.”
