SAN FRANCISCO — Company to showcase advanced tools for managing water quality in storage tanks.

SAN FRANCISCO — Smart H2O Summit, taking place August 17-19 in San Francisco, has announced that PAX Water Technologies and the City of San Bruno will offer an on-site demo of the utility’s best practices for managing distribution system water quality. The guided tour with officials from San Bruno and PAX Water CEO, Dr. Peter S. Fiske, will provide attendees with a first-hand look at how active mixing and automated disinfectant residual control are being used to maintain chloramine levels in a 400,000-gallon water storage tank and prevent nitrification episodes from occurring.

“This tour demonstrates the direction that innovative water utilities are heading,” explained Dr. Fiske. “Municipalities like San Bruno are creating smarter water distribution systems – implementing tools like active mixing and automated residual control to turn their water storage tanks into intelligent water treatment systems.”

PAX Water Technologies will showcase the active mixer used by San Bruno and hundreds of other water utilities at their booth in the Smart H2O Summit Expo. In addition, Dr. Fiske will give a presentation on how utilities are converting “dumb” water tanks into automated and intelligent water treatment systems in the Solutions Theater on the Show floor.

The PAX Water/San Bruno tour will leave from the San Francisco Marriott Marquis on the morning of August 17 and is open to all Smart H2O Summit attendees on a first-come-first-served basis. Lunch will be served at San Bruno’s Sweeney Ridge water tank, with a panoramic view of San Francisco Bay and the Pacific Ocean.

“The PAX Water/San Bruno Facility Tour provides attendees with another valuable benefit of attending Smart H2O Summit,” said Event Director Jane McDermott. “The Conference and Expo are designed to provide municipalities and other water stewards with the solutions they need to solve today’s water challenges in the conference sessions, and on the Show floor. Experiencing and witnessing an actual installation offers unparalleled learning, and we are pleased to have this as part of the curriculum.”
