ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The Washington Post recognized the Water Environment Federation (WEF) as one of the top 150 places to work in the Washington, D.C. area, according to a press release.
WEF placed 61st on the list, noted the release. The organization was acknowledged for its staff and members who “work toward a greater purpose — providing clean water and resource recovery for the protection of public health and the environment.”
WEF promotes productivity and minimizes turnover with a supportive work environment, stated the release. It also fosters employee satisfaction and professional development.
“This is the first time WEF has participated in a workplace competition and we are delighted with the outcome,” said WEF Executive Director Eileen O’Neill in the release. “WEF staff represents the absolute best in our field. We take great pride in what we do but it’s gratifying to have substantiation that as an employer, WEF provides an environment that nurtures our employees, which in turn, positively impacts our members and helps further our shared mission.”
The competition is based on an employee survey administered by WorkplaceDynamics LLC, reported the release. The research firm conducts regional Top Workplaces surveys across the U.S.
“WEF is fortunate to attract top talent but what you don’t see until you join the staff is an embracing and inclusive culture, which is the true hallmark of its success and workplace philosophy,” added WEF’s Human Resources Director Jan Taylor, in the release. “In addition to feeling good about the important work that WEF and its members do each day, the Federation truly is a great place to begin or advance your career.”
