The city of Roxboro, North Carolina, installed Ixom Watercare’s MIEX® Technology to ensure compliance with disinfection byproducts. The system will reduce disinfection byproduct levels in the city’s drinking water to allow the utility to meet federal and state drinking water quality requirements. The 4-MGD system provides dissolved organic carbon removal prior to coagulation and filtration of the utility’s raw water source. The technology reduces the chemicals required for coagulation by 40 percent.
