Summary
Energy recovery devices (ERDs) are often associated with high-pressure seawater desalination systems. As a result, many municipal and industrial operators assume the economics do not work for lower-pressure brackish water reverse osmosis (BWRO) and water reuse applications.
In this webinar, Energy Recovery will examine the hidden energy costs of operating low-pressure RO systems without energy recovery and explain why that assumption is often incorrect. Attendees will learn how pressure energy is commonly lost in RO systems, how modern low-pressure PX® technology recovers that otherwise wasted energy, and where the strongest opportunities exist across municipal reuse, industrial water reuse, and BWRO applications.
Through real-world case studies from Europe and Asia, attendees will see how facilities achieved meaningful energy savings, reduced operating costs, and attractive payback periods without major plant redesigns. The session will also introduce a simple framework for determining whether a system may be a candidate for energy recovery and demonstrate how Energy Recovery's Power Model Pro (PMP) assessment can help quantify potential savings.
