Nov. 24, 2014

OKLAHOMA CITY — The Ideal MBBR-DAF™ technology was selected through a design/build, public/private partnership (PPP) between the city of Hopewell and the team of HDR Engineering, Heyward Inc., PC Construction and World Water Works.

OKLAHOMA CITY — World Water Works Inc. announced that it has been selected to provide its Ideal MBBR-DAF™ technology by Hopewell Regional Wastewater Treatment Facility (HRWTF), according to a press release.

The technology was selected through a design/build, public/private partnership (PPP) between the city of Hopewell and the team of HDR Engineering, Heyward Inc., PC Construction and World Water Works, stated the release.

The release reported that HRWTF, producing 27 million gallons per day, receives more than 80 percent of its wastewater from industry sources, some of which contains known toxins to ammonia oxidizing bacteria (AOBs) and nitrite oxidizing bacteria (NOBs).

The facility conducted an extensive evaluation and pilot treatability study of several technologies, which included World Water Works’ Ideal MBBR-DAF system, Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor (MBBR) coupled to a Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) system, continued the release.

HDR Engineering, Heyward, PC Construction and World Water Works came together to present a PPP option to provide a timely, cost-effective solution to HRWTF, noted the release.

“This PPP is a win-win-win,” said World Water Works Technical Manager Daniel Dair. “HRWTF gets a state-of-the-art system with a binding performance guarantee from one source, the price is not only lower than anticipated, it is also guaranteed, and the local water ways and Chesapeake Bay win with better water quality sooner.”
